Mr. VineethKumar B won the district level chess championship held in Our Library conducted by Our Recreation club in association with District chess association , Alappuzha.

Mr.Vineethkumar bagged Rs. 1000 in cash prize . In his winning streak, Mr. Vineethkumar defeated the District Champion Sreejith also.

Mr .Vineethkumar secured 4.5 points out of the possible 5 points in the 5 round competition. Mr. Shaji C P came in the second place, and District Champion , Mr. Sreejith G came in third place with 4 points and Sajan.K.V came fourth with 3.5 points. The championship was conducted on 4th and 5th of december 2010 , at Our Library Hall, Alappuzha

There are 17 Participants in the competition , 5 among them having rating. Mr.Vineethkumar , currently having a rating of 1494 points will be moving to 1522 points in the upcoming FIDE Rating in January 2011

Mr. SalilKumar (Joint Secretary, Alappuzha District Chess Association ) controlled the tournament.
